Mission

The Mediterranean is especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, with many of these impacts common across the region. At the same time the Mediterranean has abundance of renewable energy resources and is a gateway for East-West energy flows. For these reasons i4cense focuses on Mediterranean climate and energy security issues and their interaction with international developments.

We believe that greater cooperation between countries and stakeholders in this region is imperative to developing timely and effective policies and programmes related to climate and energy security. To foster this cooperation, we develop proposals for joint initiatives across the region and open channels of communication between diverse stakeholders through networks, workshops, publications, and conferences. We act as catalysts for coalition-building programmes, create the architecture for joint initiatives and project manage their implementation.
